Noiret Grapes
A new release from the Geneva Breeding Program at Cornell University. Fruit maturity is approximately Oct 1 in Geneva, New York. It has a predicted 50% bud kill rate mid winter at -14.3 F. Resistant to powdery mildew but requires a regular spray program for downy mildew. Purchasing this variety requires the signing of a Non-Distribution Testing Agreement with Cornell University. Produces an excellent full-bodied wine with a distinct pepper character and moderate tannin content.
There is a $0.85 royalty fee per vine for this variety for New York State customers, $1.05 royalty fee for all other purchasers of this variety.
Currently Ecce Vineyards is not licensed to sell this variety we hope to be licensed to sell it by 2010.
